Noticing Newbies

Hi everyone! Just joined and thought I'd pop by and introduce myself!

I'm Gilly and live near Glasgow in Scotland. I've always been interested in reading and writing, but always just as a hobby, as work took me down a different path. I've recently tried to take it a bit more seriously, and today I took the plunge and joined here! I'll give any genre a go, but I enjoy mainly fantasy, sci-fi and horror. I class Stephen King and George RR Martin as authors who I look up to, and my ever- elusive goal is to write the 'big' plot twist that nobody sees coming haha!

I also love reading other peoples short stories and poems, so I'm really looking forward to becoming a part of the community. I hope some of you could take the time to read some of my work, as constructive criticism is welcome. I'm currently trying (and failing!) to keep my anxiety down about the fact my first poem, Digital Undead, is in the Read A Newbie section right now.
