Noticing Newbies

Hi everyone - I thought I would say a quick hello and introduce myself. I have been on the site for a couple of weeks now, and have entered 3 competitions already! I am finding these a fantastic way to get the creativity flowing. Having long wanted to do some creative writing (short stories, maybe even a novel some day...), and finally setting aside some time to do it, I found that my biggest challenge was knowing what to write about. A few prompts make all the difference.

I think writing.com will be at the heart of a lot more writing to come, so I am very excited to have found it. I found out about the site at a writer's weekend, near where I live on the east coast of Australia earlier this year, where several speakers mentioned it. I think it is an amazing community and resource, I have never seen anything quite like it. It is so rich in different activities, things to read, things to learn, opportunities to give and receive feedback etc. ... etc.

So thank you to everyone who makes this site what it is, and I am looking forward to spending lots of time here in the future.
