A warm welcome to our newbies; come meet new and not-so-new members of Writing.Com! |
HI all Just wanted to say hi. I've been writing seriously since 2012, before then I treated it as a hobby. Confidence levels were low and few people saw anything I wrote. But I started entering short stories to Writers' forum magazine and getting some great feedback which boosted my confidence. Yet to be published but was highly recommended. I have just completed my first novel, a children's adventure story involving monsters, mighty knights and end of the universe type stuff. I've re-written it four times, each new draft coming with each new learning stage. My background is an an animator, though these days to help fund me as I complete a writing course, I up-cycle furniture. I've always wanted to be a writer. But i didn't read my first book fully until I was seventeen. I am Dyslexic. At school in the 1970s and early 80s I was often told I was lazy and stupid because of my spelling. And on a few occasions I was humiliated in class. I retreated into a more visual world. Animating helped me grow confidence in my ideas. And with time I have moulded these ideas into stories. I'm looking forward to sharing thoughts and ideas. I also have lots of questions. cheers Chris |
