October Novel Prep Challenge

Do you sue names of people you know or stay away from any familar names in case they read your novel? What about famous or names in history?
When my sister was pregnant, hse was looking for names that with Matthew. They had to be historical names. I went with famous. I wanted her to name him Matthew Broderick Yunker. No they went with Sherman, Not surpriing that they like military names. My BIL into history.
Sometimes I have to really research the character names I choose, other times I go when what first comes to mind and change later if I need to.
I try to keep name dissimilar. Easy to keep apart. This time there are 3 people with similar names because they are family names and its part of the story.
