You have to identify a target market, and the more accurately you identify it, the better you sell things to it. I'm guessing you weren't a big soap opera fan (knowing you) even when you weren't working. So you might not be part of the market. The market consists of the people who would buy your product. If I define my market as "stay-at-home moms who don't have enough adult interaction and need cleaning supplies," there's still the implied add-on: "...who would be interested in my product." But as a marketer, I want to find a group that has the highest number or percentage of members "who would be interested in my product." The exceptions don't buy the product.
"Yay! I sold my product to every single person in my target market!" ...said no marketer, ever.
