October Novel Prep Challenge

I wrote up some of the profile on what is a minor but very key character. Why won't he tell me much about him? He is keeping himself as shrouded in mystery for me as the other characters. I only know his first name and very little about him. I can't get him to talk much to me! Any suggestion on how to get him to open up and let me know what the heck is going on?!? He might end up being a key player in the next book but for this one his appearances are brief until the end.
