I ignored most of the music in the 80s. Mostly overproduced, synthpop crap. I didn't really start loving music again until the following decade.
That said, Springsteen (of course) was an exception. Also Rush, Melissa Etheridge's first album, and the thing that really got me through the 80s, indie music (which was a lot harder to find and listen to in the days when radio was already corporate and the internet wasn't a thing yet).
