I think I understand what you're saying on your side note. I'm always reluctant to say what I'm writing about because its not necessarily about what I'm writing, but the the way I'm writing it. That really can't be expressed in any cognizant way. In the past, people have asked and I've told them--the response usually being ho-hum, or "Isn't that nice." After I've written it and shown them, however, their response is always a lot more supportive. I think that's why artists are reluctant to show their work until it's finished. Even my wife sometimes gives me a blank stare when I try to explain what I'm writing, but I get a better response when it's done. So, I tend to keep the process to myself when I'm writing. Maybe its because I don't explain myself well, but for me, its not just what I say, but the way I say it.
