Writing Your Memoir

Yes. Not including enough description is one of the more common remarks that I receive from critics. I feel like it is just the default complaint when they can't find anything legitimate to complain about. Haha...

I don't think too much about harsh criticism. Because in my experience, criticism that is worth my time is usually said in a kind what that is loaded with compliments as well as criticism. Some people are just cruel for no reason. Or they watch too many movies and think that all critics should be feared.

Personally, I respect someone who can be a critic without tearing someone down over one who has the mindset of "tear them down to build them up"...

As a teacher, I have learned that tearing people down isn't the way to help them grow. We are beat up and torn down in life because life is often tough. We don't need to tear each other down. Situations in life do enough of that.

As people, our job is to encourage and build each other up after life tears us down.
