*Cheshire*No more Invalid Item links...
by ruwth Author IconMail Icon
I am writing a review right now. I have linked a contest in it: "No Dialogue Contest-CLOSEDOpen in new Window.. I hesitate to do that because the contest might disappear and then all that would be send there would be: "Invalid Item".

I have a scathingly brilliant idea that could potentially eliminate all those "Invalid Item". from the entire site!

Here is an example: sherryb

Another example: simplycomplex

These two usernames are no longer in use. One person left WDC. The other closed her account and opened another when she had to drop down to a free membership. BUT, I still see their names wherever their usernames were linked around here.

Why not do something like that with our titles as well. So if an item is no longer around, we would see something like No Dialogue Contest instead of "Invalid Item"..

In that way, all the "Invalid Item". links all over WDC would be much more interesting and make more sense. Even something as simple as an old newsletter like this: "Noticing Newbies Newsletter (December 15, 2004)Open in new Window. would be improved as we could see the titles of those items that are no longer around.

I put *Cheshire* on the subject line of this post to make a point. When something disappears, it is nice to be able to see a hint of what used to be there, eh?
