OMG THAT MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE THAN THE MOUNTAIN ONE! The deeper the hole the protagonist finds himself in, the better the tension. The better the tension, the better the story! Am I close? The "climax" (in other models) is the turning point, represented here by the moment when the protagonist reaches his lowest point. Not the point where he ironically says, "Well, it can't get any worse than this!" ...but rather, the thing that happens AFTER that, when it does, in fact, get worse. Until finally, the turning point happens, the thing that changes the direction of the story.
