October Novel Prep Challenge

If you spent 15 minutes working on your outline, you meet the prep requirements.

But you and I know three chapters, unless really long, aren't a novel. Maybe between now and the third outline revision next week you could brainstorm about how you want the novel to end and then fill in the middle part. Knowing where the novel is going will help you in November.

* will all these characters survive?
* will any go away?
* will any fall in love?
* will any be abducted by space aliens and possibly return to tell their tale?
* will there be a zombie/vampire/disease outbreak?
* will they go on a road trip?

Or you could become more technical -

* what are the character goals and shall they obtain them by the end of the novel?
* what are the obstacles that prevent them from reaching their goals?
* is there a bigger obstacle they were unaware of at the beginning of the novel?
* in what order shall the obstacles appear - same time, or one thing after another?
* what does the character learn?
* does the character have a growth arc?
* is the plot character or event-driven?
