Love Interest or No Love Interest

I didn't plan for any love interest, but my best friend type character is flirting a little bit too much. Do I try and stop it? Do my characters address it? Or do I turn him into a love interest? I'm not sure what to do with him. Right now, I want to throw him out of the window. *Laugh*
