Hmm, I don't think I would say I have ever received any good advice. Everything I know, and everything I am, I have taught myself over years and decades.
I have received lots of useless and unhelpful advice however. I think the worst of which has to be - "If you feel depressed, just smile, it will automatically make you feel better" . Yeah. Why didn't I fucking think of that?
I think anyone has the right to give advice - if asked their opinion. If you are not asked your opinion then attempt to empathise/sympathise/just listen/change the subject - and keep your "helpful" opinions to yourself
