My support system is my family. I keep my circle small, always have, always will. With my ex-husband, I lost touch with my family so all I had was him and my kids. Now, I have reconnected with most of the family I lost touch with, but being without them for 13 years, it's not much different now then it was then. We caught up on each other's lives and that was pretty much it. I know how to get in touch with them and vice-versa, but I rarely do. Anyway, now I have my boyfriend, Tony, his brother, Scotty, and my kids and that's pretty much all I need or want. People are just too judgemental and two-faced any more that I really wouldn't want to share my mental health issues with them.
If I could change anything about my support system, I'd just wish that they were more patient and understanding. For the most part, they are, just not enough, yet. We'll get there, eventually.
