A support forum for writers dealing with mental illness |
Ha ha! That's probably the reason why I'm drawn to you almost since the first interaction here on WdC. Telling things to a stranger does seem easier than telling it to someone you know your whole life or someone you talk to face to face. For example, I really love to have that one person I can talk about anything that crosses my mind because that's the ideal relationship to me; to be.. well.. to be vulnerable in front of them and know they won't do anything to hurt you after. I have a sister who is only a year younger than me and she always put me in the corner, asking to talk with her but I just can't because I don't feel mutual connection. I trust her, she's not an asshole, but I just can't tell her anything. When she ask me about something serious, I get off of the theme as soon as I can and then she gets upset because I'm closed book. We're pretty much in that grey area you talk about; we can joke and have fun, do things together but I completely go off when it comes about her asking me to share with her my private stuff.
