The Lodestar Contest

Twenty-three entries and all four prompts used! I can't tell you how happy I am about that! Thank you for your time and creativity, and for sharing the fruits of it for this contest.

I am not sure how many Honorable Mentions will go out, but I did want to say the odds are that there will be more than one. And of course we'll have a Grand Prize winner and a Runner-Up.

My goal is to get results posted by next Monday (July 23). I'm used to judging WYRM's Gauntlet  , for which there are just a few days between round deadlines and results being posted, but the first writing round only has eight entries. With almost three times that number of entries here, the Monday goal seems about right. But I won't rush my decision for it; if I wind up needing more time, I'll let you know in this forum.
