Interesting, Lilli! My perspective is definitely different because of my experiences working remotely and then working at a place that specializes in mental healthcare. I've been very fortunate in that aspect.
I've heard a lot of stories like yours. People either had to take a leave from work or couldn't keep up with the demands of the job for a certain period of time and were just "let go". If my internship didn't allow me to get my work done at 2 o'clock in the morning and then not talk to anyone for 3 days, I wouldn't have lasted longer than week. It has been a rough summer.
