Favoring and Fanning people.

Greetings.

As one who is fairly new to this community, I thought wise to post here
some of my questions about WDC.

My first one would be: what exactly is the difference between putting someone
into "favorites" or "fanning" them?

And, most especially, will I receive news of new material upped in the portfolio
by this person?
