First time I did NaNo, I knew I would be going on a road trip before Thanksgiving, so I wrote 2000-3000 words a day and finished before I left.

It would be a lot harder to cram it into 8 days, but in such a situation, I'd at least consider writing extra when I can so I don't have to worry about missing a day or two.
