Under Construction - MHWA Retreat

Mental health care here in Texas totally sucks for those in poverty. I am so upset right now. For those of you who didn't see my newsfeed post, I've had some issues with a man across the street from me. He is Schizophrenic and off his meds and just happens to be a single father of an 11-year-old child.

He's totally transfixed on our fourplex. If we walk outside, he does too and stares at us. This means he is obsessed enough to be staring through his windows. Issues began last week when he started screaming at me saying "I rebuke you demon". I called the police. They did nothing. Then this dude decided to call the police the next day to report that we were shooting radiation at his apartment. At this point, they took him in, apparently for a 24-hour evaluation. I'm assuming this because he came back the next day. Although, this is based on observation of the lights being out at his home and not seeing him. For all I know he might have just been hiding in his home with the lights off.

It is to the point that if my boyfriend is taking me to work, leaving my daughter alone for only fifteen minutes, we feel we need to leave her a gun to protect herself just in case. If I walk the dogs I have to carry mace with me, even in the daylight. Every time I walk the dogs he is screaming at me from his door. He's delusional and thinks I am a demon.

He's also been harassing my neighbor. A few days ago he banged on their door and when they refused to open it, he stood there screaming, "Coward" and saying stuff about them shooting radiation at his house with all sort of profanities.

With each incident, the cops have been called and they have not done shit!!!!

He has a kid and I'm worried about him. He's a good kid, who has been handed a hard life. I've called child services and adult services. They said they would be investigating, but the kid is still in that awful situation and I feel he is in danger. I can't help but wonder if is some racist bullshit on their part. If it was a white kid in that situation, would they remove them?!

This morning the man was screaming at his kid and throwing stuff around, obviously manic. His kid just stood there, eyes wide, and picking at his own arms. It broke my heart. This father needs to get on his meds or this child needs to be removed before he is hurt.
