Do you ever color in those adult coloring books? My family members discovered them several years ago and have been gifting them to me for holidays since then to "help with my mental stuff." They try! But really, those intricate designs are so satisfying to work on and the finished pictures are really awesome.
I use a lot of my experiences in my writing too. Nearly all of my writing is based on my personal experiences or people I know. It's just always easier for me to write what I know.
