In interactive stories you often have many paths that go nowhere and so a way to be aware of that beforehand would be nice. I think a good one would be that there is an option to see how many chapters there are following the one you are considering clicking on. If it only says 2 then it's not likely going to go anywhere. A form it could take is that if you hold your cursor over it for 3 seconds then the number appears.
I know there are some interactive stories that have many branches that are still all just options so it's not a perfect system but it would greatly help.
