When I was a little girl, my grandmother used to make the most delicious open-faced hamburger. I wish I would've asked her the name of her recipe and how she made it. All I can remember is that she used only the top or bottom of a hamburger bun, flattened a mixture of ground beef and whatever else into patties, placed the patty on the bun, and maybe swirled a bit of ketchup on it, then put it in the oven on a cookie sheet. Not sure if she broiled it... I was only around 7 or 8 or 9??? She was Swedish, so I'm not sure if it was a Swedish dish or not. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
