I'm happy you've found a spirituality where you feel like you belong. I commend you for having an open heart after what you experienced. It must have been difficult to go to a Christian church at first with all the triggers. I haven't been in one in a long time and I think it would be hard to go sit through a service.
I took a Buddhism class in college because it fulfilled one of my gen ed courses. I went to the Buddhist temple and did weekly guided meditations. I found it to be so relaxing during the actual meditations, but felt like a complete phony during the actual service portion. It's so hard for me to believe in anything. Meditation is amazing though. I always felt like so drained, but in a good way when I left. I just felt kind of light and tired.
