Funny we both mentioned how well Char deals... not that we see the episodes But it reminds me of a beautiful mind the movie, and how we was aware, but only able to control some of it. To be raised by one with BPD would really be a roller coaster! And I too got NPD from your post about your mom. I know even if my daughter were diagnosed with BPD tomorrow that it would also include NPD, and likely that is her whole issue to begin with. Hard to know when I am no longer a confidante. There just doesn't seem to be any real 'feeling' in her; not about me, not about anybody. Or anything. Except for herself. 30 years and was always present.

You are smart to cutoff contacts that are so unhealthy for you and your family Angela. A lot of people just can't do that, and it takes a lot of strength. Yeah Charlie is super good about not getting on me for my questions and ignorance, sometimes surprisingly so. Inquisitive me! But understanding people and what moves them on life's chessboard helps me to understand people in my past, people in general. I do know with my girl it's learned (environment) only to a degree. At least I think so. Maybe we're all born with the 'ability' for all disease, mental and physical, and only when triggered and the perfect storm is around do we succumb biologically. Probably not, probably only some are we born with. Still...
