I'm amazed at how much we all share, and proud at how willing we are to achieve emotional and psychological accountability. We rock, Group!
I posted this as an entry in my blog, but here it is also:
Going back to last week's TOTW in which I revealed my mysticism: I think I was 4 when I first discovered that I see visions and others don't. (I am aware that some would consider that schizophrenia; I don't.) I still recall vividly "those looks," and I still get "those looks," though I don't share with others what I see/hear/think/feel. What? Being different is a Mental Health Issue?
No I can't think of a specific trigger, but I know the exact moment I became an autodidact of Psychology: when at 14.75 a family member (undiagnosed Paranoid Schizophrenic and Abuser) told me, "You need a psychiatrist." Of course, no attempt to put me in therapy was forthcoming.
As for carryovers, everything, including the overdeveloped Right Brain balanced with an over-analytical mind. I can easily see what's wrong, but not how to correct (in myself and in others).
