I had never heard of Maladaptive Daydreaming. I used to daydream a lot, it was better than the reality. I don't do that now tho.
It is amazing how our childhood traumas stay with us and affect our adult years in such negative ways. We walk around looking fairly normal yet inside we're hurting and angry and feel broken.
