I relate to a lot of what you said here, Darleen. It sounds like you're better at turning off the spigot of emotion which helps in regulating things, whether it's in a healthy way or not. My emotions turn off and on completely beyond my control, so I have those moments where someone is like, "Why are you so robotic? Why aren't you reacting to anything?" and then those moments where it's like, "Why are you overreacting so much? Why are you so emotional?" I wish I could decide how I'm going to be in a moment and stick with it.
I do the exact same thing as you as far as focus goes. I'll have 10 tabs up on my computer at once. I'll have Slack up, Discord, my homework, work stuff, etc... And then I'll also have a movie on and be carrying on a conversation with someone in the room. My brain just ping pongs between things. It's extraordinarily unproductive, but trying to focus on one thing on a time somehow doesn't improve my productivity at all, so, oh well.
