The number of people currently using the site is given in the left column/left nav menu just below the site time/date stamp. This information is broken down into members and guests, plus the total.

The load time of the page is given at the very bottom of the page.

Site maintenance processing occurs in the early am hours, roughly 2-3am through 5-6am site time.
