I bet you would've had a lot to say about the Topic of the Week a couple weeks ago: "ToTW: Personality Traits vs. Mental Illness Symptoms" We were talking about how to tell the difference between symptoms of a mental illness and our personality traits. I think the symptoms can become so fear that we adopt them as parts of our personality. I understand what you're saying about not wanting to pass on "bad genes" and also just generally not wanting to mess up someone else's life. I think we're too hard on ourselves sometimes.
