A support forum for writers dealing with mental illness |
Hi Charlie and Ice_Dragoness! Thanks for your kind replies. Charlie, yes, I am glad that I have a good support network and a therapist I like. It is hard to delineate the border between symptoms of mental illness and personality traits, especially when one has had a mental illness for most of one's life. I try to see myself the way that a biographer 100 years from now (I do like to think that there will be biographies written about me: did Charlotte Brontë ever try to live in a way that might interest future biographers?) might perceive my life, and -- well, the word warrior comes to mind. Not that I am particularly combative: I tend to be mild-mannered, almost placid, around others. But I have struggled so much against myself. I think that I would be a far different person without my mental illnesses. Ice_Dragoness, I don't currently have anything posted on WDC, but I intend to change that soon. I have a great fondness for the Victorian, Medieval and Renaissance eras, as well as the Edwardian/WWI era. It is very late, and I should get up early in the morning, so I will stop for now ![]() Again, many thanks ![]() |
