Okay, I'll give it to you straight. I've been doing this judging thing for a little while now. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes not so much. Before that, I was a SCREAMS!!! competitor with a ravenous thirst for the blood of my peers. There were times when I took the win and other times when I didn't. When I come into contact with folks new to WDC, I often recommend that they try entering contests. The reasons I give are exposure, practice, and competition. In the end, that's really what SCREAMS!!! is about. Why all these silly sentences before I announce the winning tale? Because today's contest absolutely comprises the best and most polished writing I've seen from each of our entrants. If I could announce a draw and walk away without having to make a decision, I would. But I can't. So do yourselves a favor and read all of today's entries.
