Really great take on the topic, Elizabeth. I know this is a topic that I've thought of quite a bit. In therapy, one of the things my therapist had me do was imagine what I wanted life to be or what I thought life would look like without my current circumstances, and then work toward creating that as accurately as possible. It's a lot like spinning wheels sometimes, but any progress is progress, right?
It makes me a bit sad to hear that your partner is also having mental health issues but is in denial. I think it's pretty difficult to cope when your support system is also suffering.
I agree with your thoughts about being more confident and outgoing without depression. A lot of people who deal with mental health issues have such loud minds. It's so hard to quiet that down enough to allow yourself to come out of your shell or be the person you'd be without it.
