Distorting mental health issues is one of the reasons that I don't like how movies portray them, either. It all seems to be about what's the most sensational, not what's the most accurate, which is unfortunate.
I like what you said about making society the scapegoat. I think you're right, it's not entirely accurate to just blame things on society. And like in the trailer, I certainly wouldn't say that everyone in society bullied him. That would be completely unrealistic.
