I think people confuse happiness with security. There's a certain level of happiness that comes from knowing that you have security in the bank in the form of money. Being able to pay all your bills every month and have money left over is a certain level of security. I know this personally because 2 years ago when we were making $110,000 a year we were pretty happy with where we were in life. Now that we're earning a combined income of less than 40,000 a year for a family of four there's a certain level of discomfort with not being able to provide all the needs at any given time. If we have an emergency there's no resources there to handle it. It has drastically changed our life. The kind of choices you make are different. Fortunately I have a relationship that I'm very happy with so my happiness comes from my family not the money. Would I rather have the money and the security that comes along with it or my family? I had to make that choice last year and give up a job I loved in order to save my husband. No amount of money can bring happiness into my life that he brings me everyday. Need something to review?
