That quote is funny. Your post made me think though, this entire debate probably depends on what you want out of life. If you want to travel the world and meet people, you're going to need money. So if that's something you're passionate about, money can make it happen.

For other people, they want things in life that require less money so they might be more satisfied with less money.

I tend to agree with what you say here either way. I've been in the lap of luxury and, as long as you're not killing yourself to get there, it's undeniably pretty great. I mean, maybe long term into old age, it would lose its appeal. Who knows.
