Good point about memoirs about abuse that have no message. I've read some that were basically just like misery porn with no message whatsoever except that the writer experienced some traumatic shit. It just made me feel sad and hopeless when there was no outlying message or really anything to be said about it. That's the primary reason I wouldn't write a memoir. I don't really have anything to say about any of my experiences.
