When I was a kid, my mother was INSISTENT that the toilet paper should roll from underneath. That never made sense to my siblings and me because it seemed backwards. When we found ourselves in the situation to hang a new roll, we always tried to do a switcheroo and hang the paper in the over position. Invariably, she spotted our handiwork, and we received the "toilet paper lecture" once again. Over the years, we tried convincing our mom to our way of thinking, but she rarely conceded anything. She's quite elderly now, and here's how it came out: When I visited her a few weeks ago, I carried some folded towels to put away in the bathroom cabinet. I happened to glance down, and noticed that she has FINALLY decided to hang the roll from over the top. As they say, "better late than never"! |
