Noticing Newbies

Hi, and welcome,

You’ll find this a wonderful place to be. I’ve been here 3 years now and I’ve learned more about writing from entering contests and receiving a lot of good feedback. It’s very well moderated and everyone is polite. They hold your hand until you get your feet set, then they check on you periodically.

Enter a contest. Two of my favorites are the 500 Word a Dialog only and the 300 Word Flash Fiction contests. Read the write up on reviewing and start reading others work. It’s a learning tool also. I pick up a lot of technique reading other beginning authors.
