Good afternoon, Brom, and my thanks for the warm welcome. In reply to your questions, I'm pretty active and occasionally informative on my blog, but I have a huge backlog on my Kindle. I have probably a hundred horror shorts in anthologies, as I'm transitioning to that genre, and want to read some examples of successful ones. However, most of what I read these days are the stories I find here on WdC, which I then review. There are some awfully good writers on this site, and it's a joy to read them. As far as being successful, I'm 71 years old. I have a few books and stories in print, but I've retired from the rat race in all of its forms. That includes chasing publishers. I'm very much a hobbyist-author writing strictly for my own enjoyment, and that of anyone who cares to read, and I'm having the time of my life. All that said, I have a good friend who has asked if I would write a story for an anthology he's producing, and I'm working on that, but it's very much the exception; it's all about the fun from here on out! As I said, I'm setting out in a new field, and being here to learn, I'm more interested in listening than in shooting my mouth off. I may have something to say now and then, but until I get the lay of the land, that will be unusual. Maybe down the road... Thanks again for everything! Jack |
