Books ... I liked Harry Potter 1 ,2 and 3. #4 was pivotal, but long; #5? tedious/horrible; #6 redemptive and #7 a fitting end. The movies though ... #4 didn't develop HP's relation with Cedric enough for the audience to care. #5 was MUCH better than the book. Splitting #7 into 7 and 8 was brilliant!
Books. Loved The Hobbit. LOTR was great. But ... movies. The Hobbit should have been 1 movie and LOTR should've been 8, as in the internal divisions in the 3 books.
In music, the Beatles were overrated, then underrated. My opinion? Their music was so-so BUT, they ushered in a whole new age of musical awareness (like George's use of the sitar) and influenced thousands of boy bands and music of the 70s and beyond and that cannot be overrated.
