I've been around others detoxing or coming off of alcohol (my mom, bless her, was a spree drinker) and one of my older sister's died of an over dose. So, I know the symptoms and I know there's not a damn thing anyone can do for them. It's a rough road. It's a dangerous road. If they're really hooked bad on drugs or alcohol they can die in withdrawals. That's why one should always reach out for any kind of medical help they can get. I know they can give you certain meds to help with some of the symptoms and keep you from killing over -- but the rest, you just have to tough out. It's horrible. My mom used to shake so bad with DTs that the whole queen bed would shake like a grown man was jerking the crap out of it. Whoo! I'm glad those days are gone -- but the memories are seared into my brain.
Plus, working as a nurse, I've taken care of people in withdrawals (very limited) but real life gave me enough experience for life! Like I said,
