The Contest Challenge

Oh, Sweetie. That is just freaking horrible and shameful! I'm so sorry how you've been treated (and your friend ). That's some crooked, messed up shit! They can put your life on the line for you to go do your job, then treat you like a head of cattle.

I know my mom HATED the VA hospital here in Pensacola, Fl. They had such a hard time getting Tony (her husband) taken care of. It was a complete nightmare. Then when she died, where did they take her? The freaking VA hospital! I was so pissed. But they did that because it was the closest. She was already dead anyway. But still. I hate that she was held there because she detested that place so much. My dad was in the Navy, but he was an 'older' father and was out by the time I was born. So, I just heard the stories about him and Pappy. Tony was out after serving many years, so I just heard the fussing about how badly they were treated.

It's an absolute shameful, horrible, inhumane treatment to be bestowed on our service men and women. I love my country but I don't love those who run it. It is so corrupt from the most inner circles to the filthy ripples that explode from within. It's time something is done. If they don't start straightening up their act, I don't know how much longer the American people are going to stand for it. They need to go back to basics. Back to our constitution. And most of all, they need to treat our service men and women with respect and appreciation with HONOR! We need to take care of them. Listen to them. Diagnose them correctly without prejudice. Help them with the treatment needed and definitely compensate them accordingly, And damn it, if they earn a freaking Purple Heart, give them the dang Purple Heart and all that accompanies it. If one puts themselves in harms way and can actually freaking die -- then I think that that is the freaking least we can do!

I'm sorry. The way you, your friend and thousands upon thousands more is unacceptable. It's deplorable. And I for one am ashamed that my government doesn't take care of the ones they're in charge of. The ones they send out on assignments that they may not come back from. You would think after Vietnam they would have learned. That just shows me they really don't give a damn. Because they're not stupid. They know the facts. They know what's happening and to who it's happening. But you better bet those up on the pedestals are taken care of. They should be stripped of all their frills and benefits and make every single on of them spend one year going through what you and your friend has had to fight so hard for. Your human rights and the decency to be listened to, treated with respect and honor with appreciation for all you have done and all you are sentenced to life with. Make them struggle just for one year. Maybe one or two of them would then care enough to actually make a movement that would actually change the system.

Okay, now I'm going to stop. UGH!!!
