The Happiness Port Project

I feel so verklempt right now. Last August when I attended a young professionals Shabbat, I met a young woman who invited me to her improv group meet ups in Philadelphia. Pre-COVID, I couldn't always meet up because I work two jobs, but on a few Sundays I joined in.

Since COVID-19, she brought the improv groups to Zoom. I was able to participate on Monday and I only have a pair of really old iPhone headphones. They couldn't hear me through the mic on that. We tried improv via chat, but it was hard and I left early. It was a bummer for all of us.

Tonight we ordered dinner and when dad collected the food from the front porch, he saw an Amazon box for me. He said, "this is for you." I was confused because I didn't order anything. I opened the box and it was a headset! Attached was the note, "Since you didn't have a good set of headphones with a decent speaker, here's a headset for you! Look forward to seeing you on Monday evenings and future improv meetups."

How did she get my address? We started sending each other greeting cards for the holidays. I feel so touched right now that I could cry. I sent her a thank you. I'm beyond grateful.
