I love the idea of writing a legacy for the grandkids. That's exactly my kind of thing! You might be interested in the "Roots & Wings Discussion Forum"  where there are people writing memoirs/autobiographies and family histories. It's a pretty open discussion forum, so feel free to start a discussion on a topic that works for you.

I agree with Kåre เลียม Enga that your blog would be much easier to read and comment on if you put each day as a new book entry rather than into the header. If you need help with that, don't hesitate to ask. We're all here to help, and the blogging community on Writing.com is very strong.
