We already have the ability to edit Merit Badges. I had asked for it a long time ago and, StoryMaster, you made it happen.
If you click on any badge you have given, you will see the word "Edit" at the top right just above the message. When you edit a Merit Badge, both you and the badge recipient will get an email that the badge was edited and it will show the new message.
When StoryMaster added this feature, he did mention to use it sparingly—otherwise it could be annoying...
