While the good answer is probably everywhere, pretty much all of my inspiration comes from history and mythology. This year, I'm using Orphic Dionysus and the Dionysian mysteries as my inspiration (though, really, I just wanted to write a witch story for Halloween), but the novel I'm querying has Odin going up against Thomas Jefferson, so... that's a thing.
