My reading would be that the title is a deliberate error, a joke in latin at about the same level as a "they'll be back, and in greater numbers" one.
I think it's been a fairly persistent theme that the author is messing with the readers: The book seems to be one part instruction manual, one part secret challenges and one part in-jokes that no one but the author gets.
