Test Dept. still has a lot of complications. Marion Pruitt linked to Brett, doesn't appear anywhere else, kind of an outlier. Likewise, Nadine Martin got a relative who was getting married, never continued. And that was just really a prelude to a Fane-linked plot where her groom was working on alternate tech to the Lenke program, and had very bad things planned that were going to send Will into a dangerous place.

Also it has a line where Lester *breaks Will's arm* because he's good at goalkeeping (thanks to stolen abilities) and the school turn omerta against Will in the 'ruining a student's career over a mistake' vein. It's a bit outlandish.

So it just spills lines everywhere that never ever connect and are just pointless. I remember a while back, when a writer who'd left's lines were referred to as non-canonical and therefore established relationships could be ignored and weren't valid, so I get there's a drive to cull such deviations.
